Saturday was the final for the Alltech Biotechnology Newcomer Galloway of the Year, three Willowcroft youngsters made it in to the final top ten, not a easy feat as the Newcomer events in Victoria can attract more than 40 contenders, Willowcroft Chance Encounter - B. Peterie, Willowcroft Classical - Sally Watkins and Willowcroft Florentine - Burt and Ward all beautifully presented and shown. It was a great thrill when Willowcroft Chance Encounter was called forward as this year’s winner!! With the judges commenting that this is the type of horse she would take home. On Sunday the judging of the Barastoc Galloway of the Year, as typical of this show, just to make the top ten is a highlight in any horses career, two Willowcrofts made the top ten, Willowcroft Chance Encounter and Bree Petrie and Willowcroft Regal Quest owned by Michael and Francesca, ridden by Michael Christie. In The Newcomer Large Pony of the Year Willowcroft Holly's Emblem made the final top ten, Barastoc Owner/ Rider Galloway runner-up was Willowcroft Regal Signature ridden by L Fielding, 4th Willowcroft Show Pan and 5th Willowcroft Jade. Congratulations to all Willowcroft owners for a super weekend of showing.
